About Me
May 26th, 2009In late 2002, I started writing a book of devotionals. These were short, personal essays about things that God was teaching and showing me in my daily life. After seven years, the book is STILL incomplete, even though I have been working on it on and off for seven years (obviously more off than on). In meditating on the unfinished state of the book, I felt compelled to share the insights and lessons from my devotional writings on a blog–and that’s where Wholesometalk comes into the picture.
Most things in my life are new right now. I have been married for less than a year, and upon my marriage, I moved to a new town (population approximately 200–201 now that I have joined the community) deep in the country of northwestern Missouri. I just finished my first year teaching English at a small, private university (one hour commute one way). I enjoy it all, but when I have free time, I love to read, bake, sew, take baths, drink gourmet coffee, and walk our gravel road.
I am a Christian woman trying to live my life the way God wants. I am a long way from perfect, but I have a strong desire to share what I have been given and encourage other women.

Your words are very encouraging, solid and a blessing! They remind me that the Lord is with me all the time—and He is good all the time.

Amen, sister! That is good to hear. The stories on the news, the economic crisis, and the struggle of daily life lead to despair for so many people. We are so blessed to know God and be aware of his presence and his faithfulness.
